Five big differences between Guardiola and Mourinho’s unveilings

Following their official presentations, the rival coaches are now set to get straight to work in preparation for the new season.

The Premier League has welcomed its latest rivalry, with Pep Guardiola and Jose Mourinho being introduced to Manchester City and Manchester United fans respectively over the past few days.
The two coaches have always had different personalities, styles and approaches to the game so it was little surprise that their introductions were also unique.
Here are five differences from the pair’s respective unveilings.

Guardiola preferred the microphone, while Mourinho went for the scarf
The Catalan coach appeared at an outdoor fan event, whereas the ex-Real Madrid and Chelsea coach opted for the classic scarf-holding introduction inside the stadium.

Guardiola did not answer questions from journalists, whereas Mourinho did field questions from the press.

A private unveiling for ‘Mou’
Whereas thousands of Citizens attended the outdoor event held to mark Guardiola’s arrival, the new coach of The Red Devils was alone at Old Trafford for the customary photo session.

Only Mourinho referenced the past
Although City’s new coach was coy about his past relationship with Manchester United’s new arrival, Mourinho did make reference to their personal history.

While Mourinho opted for a club tracksuit for his introduction, Guardiola was dressed more formally.
